The Sines Centre started its activities at the end of 2008, having expanded its area of ??operation with the opening of a pole in Grândola in February 2018.

These two units are in full development phase with a range of training courses for various audiences: young people, adults and companies.

Located in the Light Industrial Zone 2 of Sines, it comprises a workshop space for training in practical components in metal constructions, conventional machining and welding (18 posts), social and dining space as well as a building with 5 training rooms, one for computer education, as well as a meeting room and a workshop for electrical assemblies, properly equipped, as well as a room for the respective support services.

Grândola has a training workshop in CNC programming, a mechatronics laboratory, a computer room and two classrooms, as well as a support service room.

In terms of activity, the Center has a scope of operation in the councils of Grândola, Alcácer do Sal, Sines, Santiago do Cacém and Odemira, and the relationship with companies has been a priority of action. In this context, there are very active collaborations in the field, which may enable the Centre to position itself as a local development platform, articulating production with other knowledge development centres, namely polytechnic higher education institutions.
